Liars on the Left; Liars on the Right

Liars on the Left; Liars on the Right

Congressman Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) have a few things in common.  They are both running for congress, they are both liars, and they have both been caught.

Mark Kirk has was caught lying about receiving the Navy’s coveted Intelligence Officer of the Year award on his web site.  He denied responsibility for the “error” and was then caught making the same lie in a campaign video and a congressional hearing.

Richard Blumenthal was caught repetitively lying about serving in Vietnam.  He did serve in the Marine Reserve, but never left the United States.

We, as American voters, must have only one response to these men of low moral character: We must refuse to vote for them.

This will be very difficult in the case of Mark Kirk, as his opponent Alexi Giannoulias is a classic Chicago politician with ties to the mafia, labor unions, fraudulent banks, and even Barack Obama’s friend Tony Rezko.

Nonetheless it must be done.  Especially as Republicans, we must maintain strict moral standards and refuse to support Mark Kirk’s candidacy.  As General George S. Patton said “I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me.”  Mark Kirk, if elected, will be that allegorical French division.  We as Republicans will be better off with an enemy like Alexi Giannoulias than a friend like Mark Kirk.

The Democrats can make their own choice.  The moral thing to do, of course, will be to not support Blumenthal’s candidacy.  The Democrats have a history of abandoning all moral principles in support of any Democratic candidates, including the traitorous self-confessed war criminal John Kerry.  We must let the Democrats consciences weigh upon their own souls.

A violation of the Stolen Valor Act of 2005 is a federal crime punishable by up to one year in prison and a $150,000 fine. You can report suspected violations to the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. For more information, visit Report Stolen Valor.

Kirk’s lie was bigger than just the medal:

Kirk claimed on his website to be “the only member of Congress to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom.” That isn’t true — Kirk served during Operation Iraqi Freedom, just as Blumenthal served during Vietnam, but the Republican Senate candidate did not serve in the war in Iraq. His website also srared he won “The U.S. Navy named Kirk “Intelligence Officer of the Year” in 1999 for his combat service in Kosovo.” COMBAT SERVICE in Kosovo that he didn’t serve.

Three more Republicans to be counted:

Rep Gary Miller claimed he served in the Army from 1967-1968 – “According to one document detailing Miller’s service time obtained by Voice of OC, Miller, whose district includes swaths of Riverside and Orange counties, was in the military a total of seven weeks, from Sept. 7, 1967, to Oct. 30, 1967″

Congressional Candidate Adam Kinzinger misrepresented his military record because he said he served in the Air Force Special Operations Command and flew a KC-135 Stratotanker — an aircraft that isn’t typically used by AFSOC. And his Facebook page has been changed to correct that he does not currently serve as a pilot with the Air Force Special Operations Command, as previously stated.

Senate Candidate Chuck Devore’s lies, as reported by LATimes:

“During a radio debate with them in early March, DeVore talked of being the sole candidate in the Senate race with military experience. “I’m a lieutenant colonel of military intelligence within the U.S. Army,” he said. His campaign material shows he’s a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army retired reserves.

DeVore said both references are accurate because the retired reserves are part of the Army: “My nameplate says U.S. Army.”

He spoke during the debate of being “shot at in Lebanon” but did not make clear that the shooting occurred in the 1980s while DeVore was a college student studying Arabic and other subjects in the Middle East. Nor did he note that while the shooting was in his vicinity, there was no indication he was a target or was in actual danger.

In a separate interview, DeVore pointed to the shooting incident he witnessed as part of a media tour, which he suggested was perilous. “The Syrians shot at us and kind of drove us off the hill, because they didn’t want press over there. It was like warning shots,” DeVore said.

The Republican noted that ABC News correspondent Bob Zelnick was there, but Zelnick said DeVore’s version of events is incorrect: “Nothing I saw or experienced could reasonably be interpreted as our having been driven off the hill by Syrian fire.”

Currently, Stolen Valor Act candidates are running at 4 Republicans (Kirk, Miller, Kinzinger, Devore), 1 Democrat.

My youngest son is currently up at USMC OCS, Quantico, so I don’t appreciate military liars. But I don’t like hypocritical GOP politicians like Orrin Hatch either.

    Truthferry,

Kinsinger never said he flies the KC135 for AFSOC, he flew the RC26B for AFSOC, and his records prove it. His bio added all the commands he flew for, including AFSOC

Before you publish lies, double check your facts.
