CFACT Pranks Greenpeace

The funsters at CFACT (Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow) executed a couple of humorous pranks at the expense of Greenpeace this week.

Propaganda Warrior

The activists from CFACT posted the “Propaganda Warrior” banner on Greenpeace’s Rainbow Warrior flagship to highlight Greenpeace’s practices of using myths, lies, and exaggerations to raise funds and further their political causes.

CFACT activists also talked their way aboard Greenpeace’s Artic Sunrise by bribing the “crew” with donuts and then surreptitiously unfurled the “Ship of Lies” banner from that vessel’s starboard side.

CFACT executive director Craig Rucker stated “Greenpeace has been using these kinds of tactics for decades, and now they cani find out what its like to have a little taste of their own medicine.” Rucker also criticized Greenpeace’s opposition to life saving technologies such as nuclear and hydroelectric power.

Ship of Lies

In a way, this is a disagreement among allies. CFACT is an environmental group much like Greenpeace, but with a stronger commitment to ethics. In addition, CFACT and Greenpeace disagree over issues such as malaria prevention. CFACT believes that a priority should be placed upon the lives of the more than one million people who are killed by malaria every year. Greenpeace continues to oppose mosquito eradication efforts which would prevent those deaths.
