You Are Not the Educated Class
David Books recently penned one of the most assinine and offensive op-ed’s in the history of The New York Times, and with a history as yellow as the heritage of that paper, this is saying a lot.
Even the title of the article was offensive “Tea Party Teens”. Apparently David has never been to a Tea Party and has no idea at all of the demographics of the movement.
David is at least honest about his ignorant prejudices when he finally admits, at the end of the article, “Personally, I’m not a fan of this movement.” Unfortunately, by that time he’s vomited a fountain of ignorance upon his readers.
A brief excerpt from David’s vitriolic rant:
The educated class believes in global warming, so public skepticism about global warming is on the rise. The educated class supports abortion rights, so public opinion is shifting against them. The educated class supports gun control, so opposition to gun control is mounting.
The story is the same in foreign affairs. The educated class is internationalist, so isolationist sentiment is now at an all-time high, according to a Pew Research Center survey. The educated class believes in multilateral action, so the number of Americans who believe we should “go our own way” has risen sharply.
Let me try to clear this up for David and anyone else who is too rock stupid to think for themselves. We are not against junk science based upon our estimation of the people who believe in it. We are against junk science because it’s junk. We are not against gun control because a bunch of sissy-mary school boys are for it — we are against gun control because it’s is a violation of our Constitutional rights and because it damages the last defense of the people against tyrannical government. We are not against coalition-building with other nations, but we are far more pragmatic in understanding that every alliance comes with a price.
I’ll be clear: David, you are not the educated class. You and your self-identified elite are a bunch of ignorant school boys who lack the invaluable education that comes from living in the real world. You went to college, sat in class, and had your head stuffed with propaganda by liberal professors who had no more real life experience than you. That’s not education. David, if you want a real education, go out into the real world and attend some tea party rallies and meet some real Americans — outside of the beltway. Then maybe you can write an op-ed with some actual substance.
