Mark Beverly was fired by “SuperAmerica” for attacking a robber who he believed was assaulting a co-worker.

Linda Casey, a spokesperson for Marathon Petroleum Company (SuperAmerican’s parent company) stated “He endangered himself and her, and that’s why we have the policy. And we have enforced it with other employees, not just with him.”

What a load of crap. Mark Beverly didn’t endanger anyone — the robber did.

Let’s put the blame where it belongs — on the criminal that entered the store with the intention of committing robbery.

The Marathon Petroleum Company has a civic duty not to encourage robbery. They are failing in this duty.

The actions of the Marathon Petroleum Company make our entire nation less safe. Until they issue a formal public apology and compensate Mark Beverly, I will never knowingly do business with them or any of their subsidiaries.
