Taking Back America, One Back Yard at a Time

Taking Back America, One Back Yard at a Time

FoxNews recently published an article which highlights pretty much everything which is wrong with the country.

California Man Fights Legal Battle to Keep His Own Backyard is the story of George McNamee’s fight to keep the government out of his back yard.

George and Sharlee McNamee bought their home in 1976. In 1983, the McNamee’s applied for and were granted a permit to completely renovate their house. They thought that this included the right to replace their old picnic table and barbecue, which were falling apart.

Eight years later, the government came back and told the McNamee’s that they needed a permit. They cooperated by applying for the permit, which the government then denied.

The government then told the McNamee’s that they needed to provide a soil report, a geological report, a wave report and a botany report. That’s a lot of reports for a picnic table and a barbecue grill. Nonetheless, George McNamee complied and spent $10,000 to have the studies done and the reports prepared for the government.

True to form, the government once again denied McNamee’s permit application.

The McNamees offered a compromise — they would get rid of the flower garden, palapa and shed if they were allowed to keep the picnic table, shower and barbecue. The commission said no.

The McNamee’s have spent about $250,000 in legal fees so far, all in an attempt to keep the government out of their backyard. In addition, the government is fining then $6,000 per day for every day that this case drags on.

George McNamee spoke very well when he said “We fight for two reasons, property rights and freedom. My wife and I decided a long time ago, those two things matter. Without that, there isn’t much left.”

It’s a damned shame that there are so few people like George and Sharlee McNamee left in this country.

And the real sad thing is that politicians have no idea why more and more Americans are anti-government.

Of course, “We the People” created this mess by creating career politicians. Now is is up to us to vote them out of office, and not let any republican or democrat have the majority again.
