Michelle Obama Was Never Proud of Her Country Before?
Michelle Obama, wife of presidential candidate Barack Obama, was in Wisconsin last week campaigning for her hubby.
Here are a couple of quotes which really cause me to wonder about these people:
“People in this country are ready for change and hungry for a different kind of politics and … for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”
“For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country … not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment.”
Michelle Obama was born in 1964. Her adult life began when she turned 18 in 1982. During that time “her country” won the cold war against Soviet oppression, liberated Panama, helped liberate Afghanistan — twice, liberated Kuwait, liberated Iraq, created scientific inventions to improve the lives of almost everyone on Earth, donated more to charity than any other nation, created the Internet, and in general served as the “go to guy” for any nation in the world that found itself in need of help.
I have great difficulty imagining how Mrs. Obama can have failed to be proud of this great nation. Mrs. Obama must be either frighteningly uneducated or terrifyingly ungrateful. I don’t know which is worse — a woman who knows nothing about her own country or a woman who doesn’t have the good sense to appreciate it. I’m just glad she’s not my wife.
I don’t believe that anyone this ignorant of our nation deserves to be first lady, nor do I believe that anyone this disrespectful and ungrateful should represent our nation as first lady.
Surely our country can do better than this!
