Patrick played just one year of football at Redlands High but earned All-San Gabriel Valley League honors by rushing for 780 yards and 12 touchdowns on 108 carries, in addition to catching 31 passes for 312 yards. Patrick was voted team captain and most inspirational player. Patrick won California state championships in the 100- and 200-meter dashes in high school and represented the U.S. on the junior national team. Patrick was named prep All-America by Track and Field News. Patrick pledged money for the Ravens/Police Athletic League Challenge of Champions. Patrick modeled in a Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Show to help raise money for the Living Classrooms Foundation of Baltimore, an educational program that targets at-risk youth ... Spearheaded the fifth annual "Baltimore Reads Books for Kids Day" at Baltimore Polytechnic High School in 2000, helping the group collect nearly 25,000 children's books that were distributed to low-income families. Patrick volunteers with GOPAC and plans to enter politics when he leaves professional football.
