Michelle Obama, wife of presidential candidate Barack Obama, was in Wisconsin last week campaigning for her hubby.
Here are a couple of quotes which really cause me to wonder about these people:
“People in this country are ready for change and hungry for a different kind of politics and … for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”
“For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country … not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment.”
Michelle Obama was born in 1964. Her adult life began when she turned 18 in 1982. During that time “her country” won the cold war against Soviet oppression, liberated Panama, helped liberate Afghanistan — twice, liberated Kuwait, liberated Iraq, created scientific inventions to improve the lives of almost everyone on Earth, donated more to charity than any other nation, created the Internet, and in general served as the “go to guy” for any nation in the world that found itself in need of help.
I have great difficulty imagining how Mrs. Obama can have failed to be proud of this great nation. Mrs. Obama must be either frighteningly uneducated or terrifyingly ungrateful. I don’t know which is worse — a woman who knows nothing about her own country or a woman who doesn’t have the good sense to appreciate it. I’m just glad she’s not my wife.
I don’t believe that anyone this ignorant of our nation deserves to be first lady, nor do I believe that anyone this disrespectful and ungrateful should represent our nation as first lady.
There’s a lot of discussion about waterboarding these days. Is it torture? Is it acceptable? Is is necessary? Is it effective? Is it a good idea? It’s easy to become very emotional about the topic. We wouldn’t want someone to do that to us and we naturally find it difficult to think of ourselves as “the good guys” when we do it to other people.
But let’s put waterboarding in perspective. Here’s a video from a Turkish news source showing Al Qaeda terrorists burning some Iraqi captives alive. WATCH THE VIDEO.
In the video, you can see that the captives have been beaten so badly that they aren’t able to put up a fight. They just allow themselves to be kicked into the fire pit. How badly would you have to be beaten before you were not able to resist being set on fire?
These are clearly not nice people. I have difficulty caring about their rights or their comforts. I have difficulty caring if they are waterboarded to obtain information that could save innocent lives. I want these dirtbags off my planet. These are the Schutzstaffel of our generation and they must be stopped.
The Iranian religious courts have sentenced a 70 year old man to be lashed 30 times and thrown in prison for 4 months for the crime of walking his dog.
You may have heard that a San Francisco judge shut down the WikiLeaks web site last week. This is only partially true.
The bozos that run WikiLeaks did not show up to defend themselves in court, and the judge ruled in favor of Julius Baer Bank. Because no one from WikiLeaks was present, the judge could not have mandated that the defamatory documents be removed from the WikiLeaks site.
As a result, the judge ordered Dynadot — the domain registrar — to turn off the WikiLeaks.org domain.
The WikiLeaks web site is currently operating and reachable at http://wikileaks.be.
WikiLeaks can be an interesting web site, but you must keep in mind that much of the data posted there simply isn’t true. The site is used as a dumping ground of “information” by all sorts of disreputable and unethical kooks. No controls exist to verify any posted information. In their own words “Wikileaks does not pass judgement on the authenticity of documents. That’s up to the readers, editors and communities to do. ”
Go, read, have fun. You may learn something new. It may even be true.
Britain’s National Health System (NHS) is already a disaster which serves only to highlight the troubles caused when government bureaucrats try to run a complex industry.
Surprisingly though, the situation could actually get worse.
British Muslims working for the NHS are now refusing to wash their arms. The Muslims feel that rolling up their sleeves to wash their hands violates Islamic law.
Modern medical practice and Department of Health rules require washing up to the elbow.
MSRA and Clostridium difficile have killed hundreds of people across Britain and are spread by poor hygiene practices such as insufficient cleanliness in NHS facilities and of NHS personnel.
Children in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital are currently at risk, as are patients at Leicester University, Sheffield University, and Birmingham University. Moreover, it is unknown how many British Muslims are simply ignoring these rules quietly. There is no effective and comprehensive monitoring of cleanliness among British health care workers.
The Islamic Medical Association insists that “No practising Muslim woman - doctor, medical student, nurse or patient - should be forced to bare her arms below the elbow.” Hundreds or thousand more Brits can be expected to die due to MSRA, Clostridium difficile, and other infections caused by this refusal to follow modern hygiene rules.
This white-paper details suggested improvements in cooperation between the three countries to improve security and economic progress.
While we cannot endorse every suggestion outlined in the document, overall they do describe a path towards increased economic liberty for the people of all three nations.
The most interesting thing about the report, however, isn’t in the report. A number of conspiracy kooks have set upon the report as proof that the secret governments of each of these countries is planning to merge these three nations into one large “North American Union.”
It strongly appears that these people are illiterate. There is nothing in this report to support that bizarre conclusion. Moreover, this report is not from government organizations. The three organizations are all private non-profit organizations. Lastly, the report is not secret. It is published publicly on the Internet.
I encourage you to read this report and evaluate each of the suggested improvements for yourself.
A Short Course in Brain Surgery is an excellent documentary by independent filmmaker Stuart Browning about the broken socialist health-care system in Canada.
This video is part of the Free Market Cure Video Series which can be viewed at Free Market Cure.
Mr. Browning receives no funding from the health care industry or the health insurance industry.
Matthew Lee of Inner City Press isn’t the nicest person. In fact, his public behavior is often quite ill-mannered.
It appears that Matthew’s manners have gained him another powerful enemy recently — Google.
At a joint press conference held by the United Nations Development Programme and Google, Matt asked Google’s Chief Technologist Michael T. Jones why Google hadn’t signed the global human-rights and anti-censorship compact.
Apparently as a result of this public questioning, Inner City Press was banned from Google News, the news aggregation service. Until that time, Google News was the top distribution medium for Inner City Press.
Google claims to have banned Inner City Press in response to a single complaint which they received. Google will not divulge the content of the complaint nor the source of the complaint.
In addition, Google refuses to publish the qualification rules for Google News.
Google now claims that they are trying to un-censor Inner City Press, but are unable to do so due to “technical difficulties.”
Human Rights Watch brings us the story of Fawza Falih, an illiterate Saudi Arabian woman who is about to be executed by the Saudi Arabian government for “witchcraft.”
The Saudi “religious” police held Fawza for 35 days and beat her so bad that she had to be hospitalized. She was forced to fingerprint a confession that she couldn’t even read.
Now she is going to be executed. Why? Because some Saudi man blames Fawza for his impotence.
Fawza Falih is going to be put to death because some Saudi prick is afraid to accept that he’s a homosexual.
Just last month, the Saudi’s executed an Egyptian Pharmacist for “sorcery.” Mustafa Ibrahim was accused of trying to separate a married couple.
More than anything, this shows that foreigners and women have less legal protection in Saudi Arabia than dogs do in the United States.
You may remember during Hurricane Katrina that the local government illegally confiscated firearms from law-abiding citizens — leaving them completely at the mercy of marauding bands of lawless looters and murderers.
At the orders of New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, the New Orleans Police, the National Guard, the Oklahoma National Guard, and U.S. Marshals have begun breaking into homes at gunpoint, confiscating their lawfully-owned firearms, and evicting the residents. “No one is allowed to be armed. We’re going to take all the guns,” says P. Edwin Compass III, the superintendent of police.
New Orleans May Ray Nagin is the moron you see in the photo below:
If anyone should have their Constitutional right to possess firearms taken away, it should be this idiot — for pointing an M-16 at his friend Police Superintendent Warren Riley.
The people of New Orleans should demand better government. Mayor Nagin should be removed from office and sent to a remedial gun safety course
